Wrolen Pin Cafe, LLC, opened February 6, 2009 in Hodgenville, KY. Ruth Astor, owner and operator, named the restaurant in honor of her grandmother, Lora Wrolen of Granite City, IL. Ms. Wrolen was a professional cook and baker in the St. Louis and Granite City area for Pope's Cafetaria, Ravanelli's Italian Restaurante, Bill Burn's Cafetaria, Pie Cupboard, and Kurt's Grill from the early 60s through the 90s. Before opening the cafe, Ms. Astor worked at North Hardin Christian School for 9 years as a cook. She married her husband Craig in 1985 and they have four children, Josh, Andrew, Sarah Beth, and Rebekah.
